Q: Life feels so busy, loud, and overwhelming. How do I stay connected to God in the chaos?
A: You're not alone in that question. Many of us deeply desire closeness with God—but the pace of life, our mental noise, and emotional exhaustion can make that connection feel distant or hard to access.
One gentle, powerful way to reconnect is through centering prayer. This ancient spiritual practice helps quiet the internal noise and bring us home to God's presence.
It’s not about saying the right words or performing—it's about resting in God’s love and letting Him do what only He can do.
As Jesus ascended bodily into heaven, you can spiritually ascend into your truest self—the self God designed, connected to Him in love and peace. Centering prayer helps you breathe in sync with the divine breath. It’s about abiding. Daily. Moment by moment.
Practice: Centering Prayer
Choose a word to center on: God, Jesus, Peace, Love, etc.
Settle into a comfortable space and connect with your breath.
Gently focus on your word. Let it guide you back to God’s presence.
Invite God to do all that needs to be done—and trust that He already is.
Set a timer for 2–20 minutes. Journal what comes up if you’d like.
Over time, aim for 20 minutes twice a day, but start small. Even 2 minutes counts.
Remember this Truth in God's Word:
“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” ~ 1 John 4:16
As we practice being still with God, we can be assured that He is near, even in those times it doesn't "feel like it." He is love. And He is already at work in you.
